As cities are concentrations of contradictions, the global consequences of urbanization with its solutions in the development of architecture are to be elicited. However, the roles of the Nigerian mega city and the city’s status in the global scene are to be empirically investigated while considering world views on urbanization. Unfortunately, urbanization, its attendant and predisposing factors especially Architecture, a thought process believed to readily alienate than participate with its significant absence and exclusive presence impinging on the socio-economic development of the country of study which translates to the Nation’s built environment are necessary for review from a historic, trend trailing and forecasting approach. Also, possible globally advocated and inherent solutions in the Nigerian built environment are to be indicated for consideration. Summarily, these panaceas may be beyond architecture but how its principles can be actively applied or embedded in the numeric and qualitative stance of the problem in addressing urban and rural housing with slum and informal settlements formation are of critical concern in this study
