This study investigated acquisition and preservation of library collections in selected secondary schools, Osun State, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted. Population of the study was 338. Questionnaire was used to collect data for study. The result revealed that textbooks and dictionaries 296(97.1%) and encyclopedias were types of library collections. Purchase 284(93.1%) and gifts 272(89.2%) were methods of acquisitions. Preservation measures were cross ventilation 245(80.3%) and cleaning and dusting 242(79.3%). Challenges being faced by the school library were inadequate funding 150(49.2%) and inadequate infrastructure 120(39.3%). It was concluded that school library collections are acquired and preserved in order to ensure effective provision of library services. Therefore, it is recommended that school libraries should acquire more library collections such as multi-media projectors, toys and games etc.
