Employee’s Salary is remuneration an employee receives for offering his/her skills to perform certain assigned jobs. Where it is adequate and paid regularly it motivates employees and enhances their wellbeing. Where it is not paid regularly it demotivates employees and diminishes their wellbeing. The employees would need to seek some survival strategies. This paper is to examine the effects of modulated salaries on academic performance of Osun State Owned Tertiary Institutions Lecturers. Data were obtained and analyzed from sample of 77 respondents. The results showed that modulated salaries payment had negative effects on academic training, paper publications and conference attendance of the lecturers. It was concluded that modulated salary arrears of twenty three months has added untold hardship to the academic performance of Osun State Owned Tertiary Institutions lecturers negatively.
