Nigeria faces severe environmental challenges due to its reliance on fossil fuels, which contribute to deforestation, oil spills, gas flaring, and air pollution. This research project aimed to explore renewable energy solutions—such as solar, wind, hydro, and biomass—as sustainable alternatives to mitigate these environmental issues. By analyzing the potential of different renewable energy sources, this study seeks to identify the most viable options for Nigeria, considering economic feasibility, environmental impact, and social acceptance. The research utilized a quantitative data analysis insights from interviews and focus groups involving key stakeholders, including government officials, energy experts, and community leaders. This comprehensive approach helped uncover the benefits and challenges of renewable energy adoption in Nigeria, from policy and infrastructure needs to community engagement and economic implications. Multiple regression analysis used to analyze the outcome of the responses from the respondent and the outcomes show that actionable policy recommendations and strategic frameworks to support Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy, thereby reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable development. The study’s findings will provide valuable insights for policymakers, energy practitioners, and environmentalists, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development goals. By focusing on practical and scalable renewable energy solutions, this research aspires to pave the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for Nigeria, enhancing energy security, improving public health, and fostering economic resilience.
